Don Maximiano Errázuriz founded Viña Errázuriz in 1870. With his great vision for the future and his innovative, pioneering spirit, he planted the first French grape varieties in the Aconcagua Valley. His initiative and creativity were handed down to future generations and, in just over a century, his descendants consolidated the winery and positioned their wines among the world’s most noteworthy.
Errazuriz Late Harvest Sauvignon 37.5cl 2019
12% abv
Around 40 % of the grapes were affected by Botrytis and after careful berry selection fermentation took place in stainless steel and one fifth in second use oak. One third of the cuvee is aged for 7 months in used oak. The portion of Sauvignon Blanc – 88% in this blend contributes citrus fruit characteristics, the Gewürztraminer (7%) lends a lush texture and delicate floral notes, and the Viognier (5%) adds sweet notes of apricot, honey, and spices that impart complexity to the final wine. Golden-hued bright straw yellow in colour. On the nose, aromas of citrus, candied apricots, and quince intermingle with subtle notes of white flowers and nuts. The palate is smooth and unctuous with enough acidity to impart freshness that runs through its persistent finish. This is an elegant and subtle wine that promises long life in the bottle.
