The original Benromach Distillery Company was founded in 1898 by Duncan McCallum of Campbeltown’s Glen Nevis distillery and F. W. Brickman, a spirit dealer in Leith. Sadly the distillery closed almost immediately and passed through many hands during the 20th century until finally it was acquired in 1993 by Gordon and MacPhail. By this point the distillery was an empty shell and it took the company 5 years to refit and reopen the distillery.

The world’s first certified organic single malt whisky since 2006. UK Soil Association accredited from start to finish, Benromach Organic is matured in Virgin American Oak and gives sweet, malty notes with creamy pepper, banana, coffee and cocoa flavours.
Nose: Sweet vanilla and ripe fruits accompany citrus zest. Toasted malt leads to green apples.
Palate: Creamy with soft pepper and butterscotch. Freshly ground coffee develops alongside dried banana and a subtle herbal edge.
Finish: Medium bodied and long with aniseed and cocoa powder.
