An independent company, owned by Waterkloof founder Paul Boutinot, False Bay Vineyards aims to make 'real' wine affordable. These are sustainable certified wines bottled in South Africa and naturally crafted from mature and often old vineyards that, crucially, are naturally in balance. This means that, unusually at the price, the grapes from these coastal gems can be transformed into wine with wild yeast and an absolute minimum of intervention.False Bay Vineyards are proud to be a WWF (World Wildlife Fund) Biodiversity Champion and certified by WIETA (Wine and Agricultural Ethical Trade Association). All of their wines are Vegan friendly.
False Bay Vineyards Chenin Blanc 2022
14% abv
Vol- 75cl
This sought-after wine has fine, mineral Chenin characters with gentle ripe apple aromas, honeyed aromatics and delicious greengage and citrus lemon acidity on the long finish. A wine with great finesse and style. Excellent Chenin made in a lusciously rich but dry style, with a nose of white flowers and honeysuckle, and ripe, fresh creamy apple pie like flavours.
Crafted the wild way – old vine fruit, fermented with wild yeast found naturally on the grapes…not in a packet. This magical transformation takes at least six months. At False Bay Vineyards make slow wine, hence the name Slow Chenin Blanc, in neutral containers. From sustainably farmed Wellington bush vines
