Peique is a family winery in Valtuille de Abajo, in Bierzo, that carefully cultivates vineyards and produces wines from the tradition that has been passed down through three generations. Peique is the name of their wines and a way of life that they have created with the land as the essence. They value family and have worked hard to learn how to cultivate their vineyard. These wines are made with affection and humility, and are a faithful and honest reflection of the Bierzo landscape.

he Peique family story began in Valtuille de Abajo, a village of less than 200 people, located in the Bierzo area of León. They currently have 40 hectares of vineyards.
Mencía is the most important grape variety in the vineyards of the Peique family, comprising 98% of the grapes used in the red wines and this wine is made from vines of between 45 and 55 years old.
The harvest is carried out manually and on the grapes arrival at the winery, they go through a pre-fermentation maceration for 3-5 days at a low temperature.
Maceration and alcoholic fermentation are carried out in stainless steel vats and once the fermentation has finished, the wine is left to rest with its fine lees for 2 months before being bottled.
The palate is full and fleshy fleshy, with flavours of red fruit and subtle spice.
