The Western side of the Barossa Valley is renowned for producing wines of great concentration, depth and elegance – and this is no exception to that. A 100% Shiraz Deeply coloured, vibrantly aromatic with blue and black fruits – the palate is balanced with incredible length of flavour, finesse and yet has a very firm tannin spine. Will age gracefully for many years to come.

50yo vines in Marananga, the usual whole berry 10-day open fermentation with two cultured yeasts at 22-25 degrees C. A single barrel (as for most), thus 100% new or used, here new, most 18-19 months maturation, most French. Old vine super-intensity, yet has the balance needed for a 20-40-year maturation (cork dependent). Black fruits, touches of licorice and tar, very firm, but ripe, tannins. An organoleptic comment is that the format means oak plays a large part in these single barrel flagship wines, this one fighting back with the depth of its full-bodied palate.”

The Gobell family have been a part of the agricultural landscape of the Barossa and beyond for 6 generations. Descended from original settlers, this family take great pride in producing grapes of superb quality that reflect the red loam and clays that abound through the Stonewell and Marananga parishes. From 50 year old vines fermentated traditionally in a small open fermenter, with twice daily plunging and pumping over, prior to basket pressing. Maturated in 100% New French Oak – single barrel produced!

Soul Growers was formed in 1998 by the experienced winemaker Paul Heinicke with the addition of award-winning winemaker Stuart Bourne, and quickly gathered a strong following in their domestic, Asian and North American markets. Most of their dedicated team members are 5th generation descendants from the first grape-growing families who settled in the Barossa valley. They are fortunate to work with Old Vine, Survivor, Centurion and Ancestor vines, some being over 130 years old, and their goal is to let the unique character of these vineyard sites across the Barossa valley shine through in their wines. Where nature provides, they only guide. With this in mind, they strive to make sure Soul Growers wines emphasise the regional and varietal flavours of their beloved Barossa Valley. The essence of what they strive for is to ensure a lifestyle that is good for the Soul; wine, food, family, music, mates and fun.

What do I pay for delivery?

Orders under £150 are charged an initial £9.95 incl. VAT.

Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly.
Orders under £190 are charged an initial £12.00 incl.

All stock bought from Bond will be charged at delivery cost as quoted by the bond. As this varies dependent on the location of the wines and ultimate destination this will be quoted to you at the point of billing for VAT and duty.

And can we change order.

Deliveries are normally between 09.00 and 17.00 Tuesday to Friday and a signature is required on receipt of delivery. (We do not ship on a Friday for Monday delivery unless specifically requested to do so).

A shipping confirmation email will be sent when your order has been processed and shipped. You will be sent a further email and/or text with a delivery time slot and a consignment number along with instructions on how to amend this if required.

If you are out a card is left, with an instruction to call the local depot to re-arrange delivery. Alternatively, you can inform us to “leave safe”, “leave with a neighbour”, “leave in garage” etc. and we will pass this information onto the courier. Please remember that, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions, alcohol will only be left with persons over 18 Years Old.

We use Mailsafe packaging and double walled cardboard boxes for secure shipping of all bottles. Clear labelling marked FRAGILE is applied and all our despatches.

UK mainland deliveries are overnight from confirmation of despatch with the exception of the following postcodes where deliveries are made on a 2 to 5 day service from despatch : 

IV 3 to 11, IV14 to 28, IV 40 & IV 51 to 54, IV 63. KW 1 to 3 & KW 5 to 14. PH 33 to 41
