Domaine Belleville was established in Rully at the beginning of the 20th century in the heart of wine-making Burgundy. With 22 hectares of vineyards spread out from north to south Burgundy, its wines express a diverse range of characteristics from both the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals. Domaine Belleville was purchased in 2017 by an American couple and group of international friends and partners who have since also acquired the Champagne house Leclerc Briant and Manoir Murisaltien in Meursault.
Domaine Belleville Rully Rouge Chaponniere 2020
13% abv
Found in the Cote Chalonnaise sub-region of Burgundy, Rully may lack the prestige of the communes just to the north around Beaune and Nuits, but for that very reason the best vintages provide relatively inexpensive access to some high-quality Burgundy wines. This is a wine positively crammed with bright, vibrant fruit: red berries abound, with more complexity emerging as the wine opens up in the glass. This is really delicious stuff.
