Having learned her craft at Yering Station, Hardy's and the Rhône's legendary JL Chave, Caroline Mooney struck out on her own establishing Bird On A Wire in 2008. Her philosophy resonates with those wines to which she was exposed in her childhood. In her own words “it’s about expressing the pedigree of the single vineyards with which she works and the specificity of each season.”
Bird on a Wire Marsanne 2013
13.5% abv
Vol- 75cl
Classic ripening conditions have allow the vineyard to produce fruit with a lovely balance between all of the main elements. The vineyard catches plenty of sun and the lean soils help the development of distinctive Marsanne characters white flowers, spice, fennel and honey.
As a result the wine is rich and full with great mouth feel. Texture is essential to the structure in harmony with the slight (but balanced) bitterness from Marsanne which aids in persistence of flavour.
