The farm of Fratelli Recchia is situated in the heart of the historic Valpolicella region. Tradition and innovation, experience and technical progress, the philosophy that has come down through the generations, a perfect union between the old and the new. In 1906 Giovanni Battista Recchia bought a small estate in Jago, Valle de Negrar, built his house and started to cultivate the few vineyards still present at the end of 1800’s. With seriousness and passion the vineyard holdings and production are considerably increased, the company now having 60 hectares of vineyards in Valpolicella and Lake Garda.
Recchia Amarone della Valpolicella ‘Ca Bertoldi’ (WHO) 2015
16.5% abv
Vol- 75cl
The Ca’ Bertoldi is one of their single vineyard special selection wines.
A really full nose with all the rich dried fruit that’s so typical of Amarone, but also loads of really fresh ripe plum, black cherries and smokiness. On the palate this is lush and full of tart plummy fruit, with balanced oak, great acidity and velvet tannin. At six years old this wine is still young – it will develop in time, transforming all that rich ripe fruit and flavour, but at the moment should be enjoyed for the sheer joy of its lusciousness. Amarone at its voluptuous, decadent best – can be enjoyed with a really rich oxtail stew or rich braised meat.
